Round Steak in the Crock Pot Recipe

It is great when it is too hot to use the oven!Let your multi-function cooker do all the work in a crock pot with this simple round steak! Toss all the ingredients together in the crock pot, turn away, and back to steak, mushrooms, and onions in this rich beef broth.This publication was developed in cooperation with the Ohio Beef.As always, all opinions are mine.This won't be my first choice-throw it on the grill during a date or sizzle in a cast iron pan.

However, after receiving many packages of round steaks in our annual purchase of a side of beef, I learned how to properly handle a round steak and developed my appreciation for this affordable cut of beef.

* ingredients :

° 1.  5-2 lbs round steak
° 1 package of onion soup mix
° 1 large yellow onion, sliced
° 8 ounces sliced ​​mushrooms
° 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
° 3 tablespoons cornstarch
° Salt and pepper to taste

* Directions :

  Preheat the slow cooker while preparing the rest of the ingredients.Place half of the onions and mushrooms on the bottom of the multi-cooker, and then place the steak. Sprinkle the steaks with the onion soup mixture, and flip to coat both sides with the seasoning.Spread the remaining onions and mushrooms on your face, then pour the broth on top.Cover and simmer for 8 hours.Pour about 1/4 cup of juice from the multifunction pot.Add cornstarch to make a paste.Stir the mixture in a slow cooker, turn on the heat, and continue cooking without a lid, stirring occasionally, and cook for another 15-20 minutes or until the juice thickens.Season with salt and pepper.
