Crockpot-Whit- Bean & Ham-Soup


Slow Cooker Bean & Pork Soup is hearty, healthy & comforting CrockPot recipe with creamy white beans, perfect for use leftover pork!

* Ingredients :

° 1 pound dried northern or navy beans, cut
° 1 smoked ham bone, or shank or shank
° 2 cups (about 6 ounces) shredded, shredded, or diced carrots
° 1 medium stalk of celery, sliced
° 4 cloves minced garlic
° 7 cups low-sodium chicken broth
° 2 bay leaves
° 1 tablespoon dried parsley
° Half a teaspoon of celery salt
° Half  tsp of dried mustard-powder
° Freshly black-pepper
° Several bursts of chili sauce, like Tabasco
° 1 to 2 extra cups of pork, optional

*directions :

Rinse and drain the beans and place in the bottom of a large (7-8 quart) slow cooker. Place the pork bone/hock/leg in the middle, and add the carrots, celery, and garlic on top. Carefully pour the chicken broth over the ingredients in the slow cooker, then sprinkle in the bay leaves, parsley, celery salt, mustard powder, black pepper, and chili sauce.  Cover and simmer for 7 to 9 hours or until the beans are tender.
Remove the ham/hock/leg bone. Pull any pork off the bone, chop and set aside; Get rid of the bones and any fat or cartilage. Use an submerged blender to puree enough of the soup to give it a creamy texture, leaving most of the grains whole. Stir the shredded pork (from the bone) into the soup, along with any additional cubes of pork you'd like to add. Let it simmer for a few more minutes until it is completely heated up. ...
